Defined by its classic charm and traditional lines, this 1982 Trans Worlds Boat Build Tapei 42 represents an opportunity for enthusiasts of vintage sailing vessels. Built with a robust fiberglass hull, this 13.5-meter sailboat balances a displacement of 13,500 kg with a 1.8-meter draft, ensuring stability on the water. Maintenance and rig integrity have been prioritized on this used boat. The vessel underwent a teak deck replacement in 2006. More recently, in 2019, both masts and booms were treated with epoxy resin and finished with eight coats of varnish, accompanied by the replacement of the standing rigging and furling gear. Further upgrades include a partial lifeline replacement in 2021, ensuring the deck hardware remains functional and safe. The interior layout accommodates up to 8 people, featuring two private cabins with double berths and two bathrooms. The galley is equipped for extended periods at sea with a two-burner gimbaled gas stove, gas oven, dual stainless steel sinks, and a generous refrigerator. Hot and cold water is available via a 25-liter electric boiler. Power is provided by a 91 HP Volvo Penta MD40A engine, which received a revision in 2018. Electrical systems include four 100 Ah AGM batteries managed by a 60A Shark charger. Navigation is supported by a suite of instruments, including a Garmin Fishfinder 160, Navman Tracker 900 GPS plotter, Simrad AP 20 autopilot, Icom VHF, and Tacktick displays for wind, log, and depth. A diverse sail inventory is included, ranging from the main and mizzen to various jibs, a storm jib, and two spinnakers. This vessel is currently located in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy, and is available for viewing through our agency on Via Milite Ignoto. Please note that while a generator is installed on board, it has not been in use for several years.
