Expertly crafted in 1957 by the Hitzler shipyard, this 32-meter vessel is a rare example of a multipurpose icebreaker. Originally serving the German government for rescue and patrol duties in the North Sea, the hull is constructed with specialized high-resistance steel. Ultrasonic testing from 2014 confirms that the steel thickness remains consistent with original design specifications, boasting double the plating thickness compared to standard workboats of this size. With a displacement of 350,000 kg and fixed stabilizer fins, this used boat provides exceptional stability in diverse sea conditions.
The propulsion system is powered by a 1,430 HP Alpha/Mann 10V23LVO diesel engine, installed in 1979 and maintained in excellent condition. This setup allows for a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots with an efficient consumption of approximately 110 liters per hour. Maneuverability is enhanced by a variable-pitch four-blade propeller controlled directly from the bridge, allowing the operator to adjust thrust output precisely as needed.
Significant refitting has been completed to modernize the vessel's utility. The project includes entirely new electrical and hydraulic systems, including fuel transfer, firefighting, and bilge management. The engineering suite features three generators (two 70 kW units and one 30 kW unit, all installed in 2015). The deck is equipped with two 2-ton cargo derricks designed for deploying tenders, and the anchor system includes two sets of 360 kg anchors with 200 meters of 18mm chain each. The interior carpentry utilizes RINA-certified marine mahogany, with a comprehensive interior plan available for 4 VIP cabins and crew quarters.
