About

A legend of nautical design, the Bertram 31 Flybridge remains a benchmark in the industry as the very first hull produced by the iconic American shipyard. This specific 1972 model has been returned to an immaculate state through a total, professional restoration that rebuilt the vessel from an empty hull. With all new systems and interior fittings installed as of 2026, this used boat offers the rare opportunity to own a piece of history with current-day mechanical reliability. Designed by the visionary Ray Hunt, the hull is defined by a deep-V profile with a 23-degree deadrise that extends from bow to stern. This architectural choice provides exceptional sea-keeping capabilities in adverse weather conditions. The design further incorporates longitudinal strakes that enhance lift while simultaneously deflecting spray, ensuring the deck remains dry even when underway at higher speeds. Constructed from fiberglass, the hull maintains a structural integrity that is both robust and weight-efficient. Performance is powered by Cummins engines, originally from 2000, which have been fully disassembled and overhauled to reach zero hours of operation. The boat is capable of a cruise speed of 28 knots and a maximum speed of 34 knots. Its 9.4-meter overall length and 3.28-meter beam provide a spacious layout that includes one cabin and one head, comfortable for up to 10 people on board. Located in Italy, this Bertram 31 Flybridge is VAT paid and currently ready to sail. The restoration has been executed with a maniacal attention to detail, resulting in a vessel that presents as new. This boat is currently held at the shipyard and is available for viewings.
