About

Expertly preserved as a piece of maritime history, this 1956 Riva Ariston Cadillac stands as a rare survivor. Carlo Riva considered the Ariston his most elegant model, and this specific hull is one of only 19 ever built with the optional 250 HP engine derived from the Cadillac Eldorado 8V. It remains the only known survivor from the 1956 Cadillac production run that retains the original two-piece windshield design, predating the later panoramic style. Following a lengthy 40-year period stored in a hangar, this boat underwent a faithful restoration by a master shipwright. The wooden hull retains its original side planking, while the bottom planking and transom have been replaced and reinforced to ensure modern structural integrity. The upholstery has been meticulously recreated to match the original period-correct specifications. Mechanical performance is backed by a fully overhauled Cadillac engine, which has recorded only 25 hours of operation since the restoration. The cockpit layout features a double row of seating, including a pilot seat that lifts for stand-up navigation and a folding forward backrest that converts into a sunbathing area. This classic wood boat is currently listed at 220.000 EUR, with the price recently reduced. It offers a unique opportunity for collectors of vintage, performance-oriented runabouts. Complete documentation of the restoration process is available upon request for serious inquiries.
