About

Representing a significant era in naval architecture, this 1965 Alpa 11 Maica is one of the earliest examples of a sailboat constructed from fiberglass. Measuring 11.28 meters in length with a 2.74-meter beam, the vessel offers a balance of classic lines and structural longevity. Recent maintenance includes a thorough refurbishment, with rigging and cordage replaced in 2015, alongside the painting of the mast and boom. Accommodation features a comfortable cabin layout with generous interior heights, including 190 cm in the salon, 175 cm in the head, and 180 cm in the forward section. The interior has been refreshed with 2024 cushions and mattresses, plus modern LED interior and masthead lighting for efficiency. A 12/220V refrigerator and battery charger were added in 2016 to improve live-aboard functionality. Propulsion is provided by a 1991 3-cylinder Lombardini engine. The mechanical systems have been well-maintained, featuring valve replacements in 2018, a J-PROP propeller, and recent 2026 revisions including a full gearbox replacement. Reliability is further supported by the replacement of seacocks and shaft bushings in 2018. The sail inventory remains current, with a mainsail from 2017 and two Genoa sails from 2016. This used boat is currently lying in Italy. As a vessel with VAT paid status, it represents a straightforward acquisition for interested sailors.
