Apreamare Gozzo 45: specifications, variants and prices
A detailed Apreamare Gozzo 45 guide covering dimensions, shaft and IPS variants, layouts, used-boat checks and the asking-price range observed on Batoo.

In brief
The Apreamare Gozzo 45 is a 14.70 m walkaround cruiser for owners mixing sociable day trips with two-cabin coastal cruising. Depending on year and build, it uses shaft drive or IPS. Its main caveat is documentary: technical sheets and listings contain incompatible engine, draft and displacement values that must be checked against the individual boat.

The Apreamare Gozzo 45 is a 14.70-metre open cruiser that scales the Mediterranean gozzo idea into a substantial cruising platform. Its value proposition is not a headline speed but the combination of a walkaround deck, a choice of propulsion architectures and usable accommodation below. This guide keeps builder data, listing observations and Batoo analysis separate, especially where documents disagree.
Design, dimensions and specification boundaries
The later technical sheet gives a 14.70 m overall length under ISO 8666, a 13.00 m hull length and a 4.70 m maximum beam. It lists 1.20 m draft, 1,600 litres of fuel, 400 litres of fresh water and 77 litres of black-water capacity. CE design category B and a maximum of 16 persons are also stated; that certified headcount should not be read as comfortable overnight capacity.
The hull is described as warped or variable-geometry, with spray rails. Naval architecture is credited to Umberto Tagliavini. Those are design facts, not independent proof of ride quality. Load, trim, sea state, propellers, hull cleanliness and the installed machinery all affect real performance.
| Item | Later technical sheet | Preliminary 2022 sheet | Buying interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Length overall | 14.70 m | 14.70 m | consistent |
| Maximum beam | 4.70 m | 4.70 m | consistent |
| Draft | 1.20 m | 1.30 m | check the individual manual |
| Unladen displacement | 15.90 t | about 12.0 t | documents or versions differ |
| Laden displacement | 19.0 t | about 16.0 t | do not average |
| Fresh water | 400 l | 350 l | inspect the fitted tank |
These are meaningful differences. A buyer should request the build specification, owner’s manual and compliance papers for the particular hull. A brochure number should never be transplanted into a survey report simply because the model name matches.
Engine and accommodation variants
The dealer’s current product page presents twin Volvo Penta D8-600 shaft-drive engines or twin Volvo Penta IPS 700 units rated at 550 hp each. An earlier Apreamare technical sheet instead showed twin Cummins QSC8.3 600 engines as standard and IPS 650 as the alternative. Model-year development and contract specification may explain the change, but only engine plates, serial numbers and the vessel’s documents settle an individual case.
The two Batoo listings are observations about individual boats, not universal specifications. The 2025 boat reports twin D8 IPS 700 engines at 550 hp each and 70 hours. The 2024 listing records twin IPS units at 700 hp each and 200 hours, which conflicts with the later sheet’s 550 hp IPS 700 rating. That is an unresolved listing value requiring verification, not evidence of a certified 700 hp option.
Both observed boats report two cabins and two heads. The model label alone still does not establish berths, storage or furniture placement because individual fit-out can differ. General arrangement drawings should be matched to the actual joinery and registration documents.
Reasoned strengths and limitations
In Batoo’s analysis, the strongest feature is deck continuity. Broad walkaround routes can reduce conflict between the helm, people handling lines and guests using the lounging areas. A 4.70 m beam also creates considerable working and social space for a boat in this length class. Offering shafts and IPS lets an owner choose between a conventional driveline and pod-drive manoeuvrability with a different machinery footprint.
The trade-offs follow from the same layout. Extensive exterior space brings more upholstery, teak, sealant and deck hardware into sun and salt. A broad, potentially 19-tonne boat demands careful checking of berth width, lift capacity and running costs. Published figures reaching 30 or 33 knots belong to defined configurations and loads; they are not a promise for a fouled, heavily equipped used example.
Customization cuts both ways. It can produce a boat well suited to its first owner, yet makes same-year comparisons less reliable. Electrical architecture, generator capacity, air conditioning, navigation electronics and deck machinery often matter more than the length of an options list.
Ideal use and the right owner profile
The Gozzo 45 best suits owners who mix sociable day trips with coastal cruising for a smaller sleeping party. The two-cabin, two-head layouts reported in the observed boats could work for a couple, a family or two couples who value large outside spaces. The certified maximum of 16 people says nothing about stores, privacy or overnight comfort for that number.
Shaft drive may appeal to an owner prioritising familiar mechanical access and a conventional propulsion chain. IPS may appeal where close-quarters handling and packaging are more important. Neither label wins automatically: local service support, annual hours, operating profile and documented maintenance deserve greater weight.
This is a less obvious fit for someone wanting a fully enclosed all-season saloon or a low-complexity boat with a modest maintenance budget. A viewing should reproduce real use: carry bags through the side decks, operate galley and heads together, check ventilation at rest, sit at the helm and assess cockpit shelter.
Used-boat checks before negotiation
An inspection should begin with technical identity. Match the HIN/CIN, build year, CE paperwork, owner’s manual, engine and transmission serials, documentary power ratings and installed machinery. The 700 hp entry in the 2024 listing makes this more than a paperwork formality.
For IPS, request service history, oil and filter records, seal inspections, evidence of impacts, alignment checks, corrosion review and electronic diagnostics. For shafts, inspect mounts, couplings, alignment, seals, shafts and propellers. Either configuration deserves a cold start, loaded data readings and an independently supervised sea trial.
Deck inspection should include moisture around fittings, teak adhesion and wear, drains, hatches, rails, platform operation and signs of repaired damage. Below, inspect bilges, pumps, seacocks, sanitation, air conditioning, generator, batteries and chargers. Engine hours become useful only when reconciled with invoices, diagnostic records and the claimed operating pattern.
Alternatives organised by intended use
| Model to cross-shop | Useful comparison question | Why it might make the shortlist |
|---|---|---|
| Pardo 43 | is a more day-boat-led open deck the priority? | contemporary exterior circulation |
| Fjord 44 Open | is a more angular, minimalist layout preferable? | large open areas for daytime use |
| Solaris Power 44 Open | how much weight should hull behaviour carry against accommodation? | a different balance of deck and cruising aims |
This is an editorial comparison framework, not a ranking or a specification equivalence claim. Compare the same year, propulsion, tax position, equipment and condition. Otherwise the asking-price gap mainly describes different individual boats.
Observed asking-price range and methodology
On 5 October 2026 the Batoo dossier contained two active, editorially eligible offers: €950,000 for a 2025 boat and €970,000 for a 2024 boat. The observed range is therefore €950,000–€970,000 from a sample of two asking prices, not completed-sale evidence or a valuation. VAT position, finance, equipment, condition, warranty and negotiation may materially alter the final cost.
The selection signals remain separate. Active subscription, offer freshness and editorial eligibility are positive; identity status is reported independently, and the dossier count for that signal is zero. Broker Pro means an active subscription only. It is not identity or KYB verification and never guarantees coverage, ranking, inclusion in the stable article body or a favourable assessment.
